What’s that saying, the shoemaker’s kids never have shoes? That’s been the case for me. For someone who calls herself a graphic designer, I’ve let my own website slide for too long. So, with the new EP etc, it was time to do some updating. This week i dropped off the album master, submitted final artwork and sent it all away. It may be the world’s slowest process, but at this point I’m considering each step a major victory. I’m psyched too, to be working with Any & All Media, an Austin-based CD/DVD manufacturer who’ll handle printing & replication. Keepin it local makes me happy because A#1) it’s eco-friendly and B#2) it helps support music and the local economy.
Anyhoo…I considered posting a preview of artwork here and then wondered if my two blog readers might rather just see it all unveiled at once. Difficult to tell. But I guess I’ll hold onto it at least until discs are printed, about two weeks from now. Did I mention the record’s called Tiny Truths? Cheers.
I’ve had Sophia on my desktop for about 6 months now. Today I decided to change it up, but wanted to post her here for posterity because i love her – and because her creator, Lynden St. Victor is so worth checking out. His women are young and dreamy and weird (and bare a striking resemblance to Natalie Portman if you ask me). There’s a diary detailing each painting on his website….so yeah, awesome. And so long sophia, been real.
Barcodes, ISRC codes, ASCAP/BMI, to Taxi or not to Taxi, instrumentals, mastering, to press 1000 or figure out a more digital way to get the music word out there – all issues to wade through as we get ready to master Little Windows this week. This rekkid is almost a wrap which is awesome – and means i’ll be able to turn my attention, for a minute, back to writing.
In other news, I ordered this rug today. Fun.
